There's definitely an appreciation for rain with farmers and homesteaders that's something you really can't understand until you're so dependent and in need of this valuable resource. It's not just the water although that's definitely a large part of it. It's all that the rain provides. The electrolytes , the acid balancing properties, the temperature regulation, it's the entire gambit. If you just spray your hosepipe you're not providing all that rain does. If you're reduced to using the old hosepipe you're going eventually to buy all of the neccessary additives from somewhere else and some other form and add it to your soil, plants , compost etc. Even the additives you purchase from another source aren't nearly as effective as what the rain provides. It's a wonderful blessing everytime a raindrop falls and to NOT appreciate it is a grave misunderstanding of what the rain provides. So when you see rain in the forecast don't complain about it learn to appreciate it.
