Caring for your animals is righteous

So it's really difficult to have a sick animal and them unable to tell you what's wrong with them. In my normal job people tell me what is bothering them and it's pretty easy from there most of the time. However it's completely random guessing when dealing with your animals. So you do your best to figure it out .

Now there are those people that will say well they're just animals. If it dies just get another one. When you spend all of this time taking care of these animals and watching them grow up you actually become invested. Now what also needs to be mentioned is to get an animal from infancy to producing is quite a long haul with getting their temperament right , feeding them while growing them into a healthy good producing adult is quite the feat that takes time, money , patience and persistence. So with all that invested it's a little more than just go out and get another one.

Specifically when it comes to poultry even getting new birds integrated with an existing flock is a hard , rough road.

So when one gets sick you're totally invested at that point financially and you've learned their personality and they just have their own little slot in your farm community. So you tend to do whatever it takes in order to get them well.

Yes sometimes it is a lost cause and you just have to face facts and the inevitable has to be accepted. But you will fight to the very end. If you don't find yourself doing that then you probably don't need animals of any sort. You may have some narcissistic tendencies and may need to look into that.

As far as our animals they do get treated well and their health will always be first and foremost above all else. Do I feel guilty about it? NO absolutely not. Not even a little.

So our recent concern about our oldest duck mocha , she will have our best efforts to ensure her improvement in health and extra avenues will be explored if need be without any guilt in pursuing those avenues whatsoever.

Proverbs 12:10 “Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.
