You know watching these cold weather fronts moving through different areas here over the past two weeks it seems like more and more Americans are ill prepared no matter the state , area , urban or rural so many people are floundering with these extreme cold fronts that hit so many areas hard. The thing I've been noticing though is people that are floundering are blaming somebody else for them not being prepared.
I just saw some of the coverage from one of the areas and it seems the people in these situations had not prepared at all had no contingency plans for anything yet it was the " government's" fault and of course no fault of their own.
You know truthfully I think most Americans are pretty much close to that versus actually being prepared. If you look around at other countries even third world countries the majority of the population can easily get by on their own yet here in America it's always someone else's responsibility to plan on and attend to YOUR needs during an emergency or weather situation.
It seems as though people down in Texas have been seeing their power bills for from $300.00 per month to $5000.00 to $9000.00 per month because of this last snow storm. And the power companies are saying this is to be expected. Expected my butt. Who can afford that type of a jump in your power bill. One of the residents down in Texas just got his bill for $17,000.00 dollars for the month. 😮 Who could afford that? I know I couldn't.
Seeing the vast numbers of people during these weather fronts that's been hitting a large portion of the nation it's definitely got me thinking more and more about getting that fireplace installed just for if nothing else Peace of mind and not worrying about some power bill that's that ridiculous. Sooo the next big project will definitely be the fireplace. I look forward to that one. 🤣🔥
My piece of advice to anyone after watching this last pitiful showing of how poorly Americans are for ANY event other than expecting someone else to swoop in and " save" them is everyone needs to prepare some on their own and become a little more self reliant.
