It seems every year at this time you just never have enough eggs. Whether it chicken or duck. Which by the way our duck eggs are getting wiped out right now. Mostly I think because of all the baking going on with the holiday festivities.
However the ducks and chickens due to a decrease in the amount of sunlight hours lay a lower number of eggs š„. I think they're just slackers. But you know those union rules. Dang chicken and duck union. š¤£š¦š However I refuse to put in artificial light in the coops just to fool them into laying hard year round. This is supposed to be the part of the laying season when they slow down , recoup and let their bodies have a break in order to maintain their health. So I understand their need for that in order for them to stay healthy and continue to produce healthy eggs.
But could they not understand the simple economics of supply and demand and just switch up their schedules for crying out loud ? I mean work with me here. I'm pretty sure Flossy Mae is the ring leader in this scam in order to renegotiate terms that little scam artist. If she starts claiming blue flu we are going to have issues. Come on Flossy Mae š get those girls on task. š¤£
So just a warning out to those of you that have a few chickens and Ducks , I realize that right now we are all being cleaned out but in the immortal words of my mother " This too shall pass " . Don't think all of a sudden you need to go out and get more chickens and ducks. This " run " on eggs will disappear come January and you're going to end up with more poultry to feed and be completely inundated with eggs for the rest of the year.
Chop chop Flossy Mae we got orders. šš¤£
