You know in getting set for the fall garden it hit me it's getting close to time that the dreaded winter season is coming up on us right around the corner. Yes I know it's still quite a few months away but we're on the downside of the summer which I absolutely love. Yes I do quite enjoy the fall as well but generally during the seasons the spring brings excitement about the hope of the great time of year coming with all of the growing season coming an air of hope and excitement hits you and it's game on. My excitement is at it's peak. Then near the end of the summer when the fall season begins it's almost a season of dread. Everything is dying , well most of the garden, and it begins the season of bleakness.
However this year I think I'm beginning to see why God made a season for everything. It's kind of the thing of if you don't have a cold you don't have hot if you don't have bright you don't have dark if you don't have a day you don't have a night. In other words if you don't have one you can't have the other. So how would you have an appreciation for any of it. It's quite a beautiful system. I certainly don't appreciate it enough when I see or experience it. I really should give thanks much more than I do.
Secondly those processes that occur make wonderful things reset for the next growing season. Things that occur begin to rebuild your soil and make growing the next growing season possible. It's wonderful.
Thirdly it's a time of year you can actually slow down a little bit and take a breath , reevaluate your efforts of the previous year and make adjustments. You also have time to get to those projects you've put off because you just don't have the time.
So this coming fall season I can assure you I'll be thanking the lord for his intelligent design and this perfect time of year for other projects and rest. If you have felt the way I do over this approaching time of year maybe really reevaluate and think about what God has provided you and give him thanks on how great this incredible system really is. 🙏😁
