I just want to say if you decide to get a " pet pig " then let me tell you , you're going to get a needy , whinny pig that wants your attention ALL THE TIME. Our pig Bella is an American Guinea Hog and we got her from her mother at 8 weeks. Y'all we've had her now for about a month and we can't walk out the back door without that pig wanting our attention. She literally comes up to where you are and flops down on your feet to keep you from walking away. Yup she's needy. I'm really unsure as to why nobody has figured out yet that pigs are as bad as puppies. They want your attention every minute of every day.
Now the answer to the question, NO our pig will not be going to any freezer camp and becoming Bacon. She's strictly a pet. đ
And for those " homesteading types who have their calculators adding up feed cost , couldn't care less. Look our pig Bella is going to be around a long time hopefully. đđ
So if you're looking for an unusual pet who's as loyal as a dog and strives for your attention and affection get a pig. đđ
