You know I think it's great to know how to do and make anything on your own , but at what cost?
Yes apple cider vinegar is easy to make and no doubt everybody should have apple cider vinegar in their household for a multitude of reasons and this latest episode of this virus should have at least one large bottle in everyone's pantry. But everyone right now is all about going to the store and buying the ingredients to make. Well there are some factors to consider
1) Cost
It's going to cost you 4-5 times to go to the store to buy the ingredients.
2) Time
It's going to take at least 4 weeks minimum for the cider to cure
3) Attracting insects
attracting unwanted insects while the cider is curing. I don't know about your situation but one thing you worry about living in the south is ants and critters being summoned by anything left out in your house so the cider is a screaming Kmart blue light special.
4) concentration
The pH of the cider is a very important if not the most important aspect of the cider so unless you've got a pH kit sitting around to test the cider and know the exact pH of the water you are using and what the acid concentration of the exact amount of apples to sugar content along with the temperature during the curing process it's very likely your cider could be weak or too strong.
5) Space needed
If you use apple cider vinegar for multiple reasons such as your own health dosing , multiple animals health etc , the amount you will need continuously will have your pantry turned into a apple cider vinegar manufacturer without any room for anything else.
So for me it just makes more sense to go down to the store and buy a large jug of apple cider vinegar. 😁👩🌾🍎
