Wild mushrooms are NOT for me

I just read an article concerning people recently due to the Corona virus had started going out gathering wild mushrooms in order to subsidize for the limited food resources available at the stores or at least the limited availability. Now I'm no mushroom expert and have limited knowledge on the subject. I would think people who decide to start this endeavor are thinking pick up a book on Amazon on mushrooms and your up and off to the woods.

Well a well respected chef and mushroom expert who does this all the time recently died and made a number of his friends severely sick by going out and gathering mushrooms and preparing them for a party that was being held.

So if this mushroom expert can be fooled what in the world would a novice moron like me would make me think " hey I've got a reference book from Amazon on mushrooms I'm now an expert so I'm good to go. Hey baby we gonna be eating mushrooms tonight once I get back from my expedition from the woods so get the plates ready.

With all the nuisances associated with not only the type of mushrooms but the type , the amount of sunlight and moisture along with the soil and surrounding plants I'm pretty sure someone like me or any other mushroom novice needs to be extremely careful before planning a half baked plan for a mushroom gathering dabockle with assured sickness or death to follow.

Good luck on your trip and be sure to take your mushroom reference I'm sure that will help.
